A Pregnant Mother and Her 7-year-old Son Starved

It was just a real tragedy when a mother being in the seventh-month of her pregnancy and her 5-year-old son died in hunger. The bodies which were found accidentally by the neighbors lay unattended on a bamboo bed in her shanty. They found it strange to know that the two were never out of house.
On the previous day, a neighbor had actually identified that the two had nothing to eat. “There was nothing to cook and no money to buy the food” said she. Just a night before the tragedy, another neighbor gave them a favor by providing a kilo of rice. The mother, however, could not make use of the donation well due to her being weak and starving. The other son, who was still in breath when found was immediately rushed into a hospital for medical care. Her husband, a tricycle rider, had never shown up for some days because of probably having got no money yet to bring home.
The tragedy happening in South Sulawesi, Indonesia shows off another proof of incapability of the government to manage the country and serve the people. The country which is run by corruption-ridden practice has plunged into an acute economic crisis which seems to be unable to recover. The crisis, after all, has brought many into a hard and uncertain life. ANOTHER HUMAN TRAGEDY strikes at our unconsciousness in this rich country.
